Ministering To The Lord

Acts 13:2

Acts 13:2 -As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

Ministering to the Lord is the most rewarding and effective way to build a relationship with God. A relationship grows through time spent together with God. Knowledge and understanding are gained through mutual exchange of mind and heart. Anytime we are ministering to The Lord we are walking in our normal rhythm of life for we were made kings and priest unto God. (Revelation 1:6 - And has made us [a]kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

God sends His Word “I want My People to know Me”! God is now sending another Word: “I want My People to know who “I AM” Exodus 3:14 And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” In other words, “Know that I Exist” …Hebrews 11:6(b) and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. You cannot get to know God without His word and spending time with Him. Daniel 11:32(b) but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits.

*God does Everything according to a Pattern based upon a Principle*

John 5:19: Jesus said I only do those things I See my Father do. John 8:28: and I only say those things I hear my Father Say. Jesus sought His Father

.

***The most important aspect of our walk with God is the time we spend alone with God. Exodus 33:7 Moses took his tent and pitched it outside the camp, far from the camp, and called it the tabernacle of meeting. And it came to pass that everyone who sought the Lord went out to the tabernacle of meeting which was outside the camp. This was to help the people forget their normal routine of life and focus on God Himself by leaving the familiar things behind, enhanced their fellowship with God.

In the time you spend ministering to God you must remember it is a two-way conversation. After you finish ministering or praying to God, sit still and wait before Him, enjoying His presence and listening. As you grow in your Christian walk with God, remember to stay Christ Centered. God came to us on our terms so, we can approach Him on His terms. Be submissive God is to be loved, trusted and obeyed above all things. Share what you have received from God because “He is too Good to keep to Ourselves”. Finally remember the three-step process of growing in Grace.

  1. Getting to know God by reading and studying the Word of God. Joshua 1:1-9 (8,9)

  2. Praying in other Tongues (praying by the Holy Ghost) & Praying with your understanding (praying your known language).

  3. Ministering to the Lord (a Place of Intimacy)

Joshua 1:8-9 - This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you[a] shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

We need to enter God’s Presence daily… It will change your heart and cause you to Love Him More. How we enter God’s presence is important!

King David entered into “A Song of Praise for the Lord’s Faithfulness to His People and A Psalm of Thanksgiving”

Psalms 100:1-5: Make a joyful shout to the Lord, [a]all you lands! Serve the Lord with gladness. Come before His presence with singing.

Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and [b]not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him and bless His name. For the Lord is good;

His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations

Four Steps to Intimacy with God which brings Success in Prayer: Joshua 1:1-9 (8-9)

Psalms 100:1-5; your approach in prayer is everything:

  • 1. THANKSGIVING: Enter His gates with thanksgiving Psalms100:4;

  • Into His courts with Praise Psalms 100:4

  • Be Thankful unto Him and Bless His name Psalms 100:4

  • 2. CONFESS: your sins, clear your heart with God, I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

  • Therefore brethren, having boldness to Enter the Holiest by the Blood of Jesus: Hebrews 10:19

  • Hebrews 10:22: Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

  • 3. ADORATION: Shower God with praise and Worship Him just for who He is

  • Revelations 4:11 “You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For You created all things and they exist because You created what you pleased”

  • Psalms 63:3-4, 7-8 “Our Father’s Love is unconditional”: Because Your Love is better than life, I will praise You. I will praise You as long as I live, I will lift my hands in prayer to Your name, because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings. I cling to You; Your strong right hand holds me securely.

Love on Him: This is our opportunity to take time to express our Love to Him: Psalms 37:4-5 4 Delight thyself also in the Lord and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

4. THANKSGIVING: Thank God for all he has done and what He is doing now and will do in the future…love on him, Thank Him for His Promises! Remind Him of His Promises.

God said His sheep hear His Voice and follow Him. John 10:27

When you Seek, Ask, and Knock in your time of ministering to God always remember to take time to be still before God and just listen: Psalms 46:10

  • Be Still and know that I AM God Psalms 46:10

  • As the hart Paneth after the water brooks so Paneth my soul after thee, O God. Psalms 42:1

  • My soul thirst for God for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? Psalms 42:2

  • My tears have been my meat day and night while they continually say unto me, where is thy God: Psalms 42:3

  • When thou said, seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek. Psalms 27:8

Remember: Be still and wait before God. He will show up for you, His Sheep hear His Voice (John 10:27). That is God’s Promise and God cannot Lie. His “Word does not come back unfulfilled” Isaiah 55:11…Ministering to the Lord will bring the Greatest Satisfaction and Defense Against Spiritual Attacks.
